SOUTH EAST DIVE TRIPS

Frequently Asked QuestionsI

What do I bring?  Of course your dive gear and C-card.  Air tanks (have them ready for the first dive).  Your favorite DVD's for the road trip.  Any drinks or snacks you may want.  Blanket and pillow if it helps you sleep.

What shouldn't I bring?  Every piece of dive gear you own.  This is a bus trip and space is limited.  Bringing your own cooler is fine but remember that 2 large coolers will be in the bus already.  Yours will probably be stowed below if it is to big.

What is included in the price?

Transportation: The bus ride there and back.

Dives: Open water boat dives.

Hotel: With double occupancy.

What is NOT included in the price?

Gear: If rental gear is needed for the trip, make sure you take care of that before departure.  Georgia Offshore has a full line of new rental gear available.  Also, some weights are available by the boat operator (usually lead) but it is recommended you bring your own due to quantity.

Air Tanks: Tanks are not included so bring your own.  Rental tanks are available at Georgia Offshore but you must set this up ahead of time as the number of tanks are limited.  Nitrox is available.  The shop will be open until departure for any last minute purchases or air fills.

Air fills: It is impossible to know what kind and how much air will be used. So to keep it fair for everyone, air fills will be available at the marina but at the owners expense.  Please have your tanks ready and filled for the first dive so there are no delays.  Nitrox fills are available during the trip.

Food:  We generally stop to eat soon after departure, so you don't have to worry about rushing.  You may want to bring some snacks with you to eat before we dive in the mornings as we will not stop for breakfast.  Although the hotels we stay at do have continental breakfast available.  After the dives, we will be stopping in areas with different choices of food for lunch and supper.

Alcohol:  BYOB (Alcohol is allowed on the bus.) Please bring cans.

Boat crew tips: Usually customary on the last day if they did a good job.

What kind if diving will we be doing?  All levels of divers are welcome!  I will need to know your interest in diving for the trips.  The biggest that can be accommodated are wreck, deep, drift and spear fishing.  We will try to go with the majority although conditions are unpredictable.

Where do I park?  Parking is available at Georgia Offshore in the back of the parking lot although you may want to be dropped off and picked up.

What if I come alone?  Single occupancy rooms are available for a small additional cost or you can be paired up with another single occupant to keep the same cost.  There are always plenty of groups to dive with.  Please contact Ryan for those details.

Are non divers welcome?  Of course!  The best way to get them diving is to be around other divers and the dive life.  Just make sure that is known ahead of time by contacting Ryan.

How are the sleepers on the bus dispersed?  There are 12 sleepers on the bus and with 15 to 22 passengers on board......some will have to sleep in the reclining chares on the way down.  They are double sleepers stacked in four sections of three; so sleeping quarters are tight but cozy. Even with somebody else.  The best way to disperse them is on a first come, first served basis.  Although if you have any special needs I'm sure we can accommodate you.

How do I pay?  Payment can be taken at Georgia Offshore by cash, check or charge.  Or by check to 250 Sugar Mill Dr.  Savannah, Ga. 31419  Checks should be made payable to Ryan Johnson.

What is your return policy? Weather cancellations before departure will result in a full refund via the way it was paid.  Weather cancellations after departure will result in a partial refund of money simply depending on how much of the trip has been completed.  Deposits of half the trip charge are required to hold your seat; this is non-refundable. A minimum of fifteen divers have to be signed up and deposit paid one week before departure date for the trip to happen.  If not than a full refund will be maid via the way it was paid.
