During the course, you learn specialties that interests you. You gain confidence, experience, and capability. The student does a minimum of six specialty dives. Navigation, Deep Dive, Night or Low Visibility Specialties are mandatory. Your sixth specialty will be NITROX. NITROX is a gas blend that has a higher percentage of oxygen in it than regular air. This blend allows the diver to extend their bottom time, shorten their surface interval, and maximize their dive. The specialties are: |

| The Advanced Open Water Certification is for divers who desire additional training. The student is able to
apply their scuba skills and learn more under the supervision of their
instructor.
With the NITROX specialty, you will learn the benefits and disadvantages of NITROX. How to plan your dive, determine maximum depths, and bottom time using NITROX. |
